Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume or quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via natural (un-paid) search results as opposed to Search Engine Marketing (SEM) which deals with paid inclusion (such as Google AdWords).
Typically, the higher a site appears in the search results, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search and video search. This gives a web site web presence.
As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work and what people search for. Optimizing a website primarily involves editing its content and HTML and associated coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines. This is generally done during the design of a website which I try to do for all my website clients (see 50 Quid Website).
Higher rankings also depend on back-links through specific keywords that identify your website. As well as submitting your website to around 100+ search engines each month I will also do everything else required to try and tilt search engine rankings in your favour, and advise of any changes that could be made to your existing site that would also benefit your rankings.
As with 50 Quid Website the 50 quid you pay is for a year, which means if you're happy with what's been done then 12 months down the line if you want me to carry on with the work then you simply pay another £50 and receive the same level of quality and service for another 12 months.
There's never any guarantee with search engine placement although there are many out there that would say otherwise simply to get the order, but my success has been pretty good so far and I am only getting better at what I do so I expect to be quite successful which ever site I'm working with.
